Fallas 2006 in Valencia officially over

The piromusical Antonio Caballer was a magnific prelude for cremà.

With eyes full of tears, wishing that the clock would not strike one o´clock in the morning, Lucia Gil and her Court of Honour made their appearance on the Town hall balcony in company of the President of the Generalitat, the Mayoress of the City and the Councilman of Celebrations and Popular Culture.

Thousands of people were crowded into the town square to be present at the “cremà” of "Imagin". "Senyor pirotècnic pot començar el castell" was the order that Lucia gave from the privileged viewpoint of the celebration. “Fuegos de Artificio Antonio Caballer S.A.” of Moncada, did not defraud delighting the crowds with a firework show to the music of “l´Entrà la Murta”, “Lo cant del Valencià” and the “Pasodoble Valencia”. Spectacular lights and colors combined with aerial gunnery and the force of the terrestrial earthquake, were a magnificent prelude for the ritual of the municipal “cremà”.

Seconds later the maximum representative pushed the digital button that initiated the “cremà” of the monument created by Ramon Espinosa and his team. “Imagin”, was quickly devoured by the flames, renewing another year of the ritual at night of San Jose. The sobs and smiles invaded the maximum representatives in the balcony, who remembered all that was lived during these days while they contemplated the fire which turned the monument to ashes.

The notes of the Fallero, accompanied the dance of the flames and with them culminated the emotion of an exercise that has brought us many joys, such as the visit of the Kings of Spain in the heat of festive week and to be able to share more and more the best thing of the Valencian Earth with all those that visit us.
