AMERICAS CUP FEVER TAKES HOLD OF VALENCIA

The current Americas Cup holders, the Swiss Alinghi team won all eleven of their races throughout the weekend of the 17th of July, to make the 4th Act of the Louis Vuitton Challenge a bit of a one horse race. The 4th act which is one of the regattas which will help the teams to build up points for the final 2007 Americas Cup competition, was held on Valencia´s coast line with the 5th act also taking place there. The Spanish Team (Desafío Español) were beaten in the final race of the 4th act by Sweden´s Victory Challenge to finish sixth overall. The Alinghi team beat their main rivals, the Emirates Team New Zealand and BMW-Oracle. The latter two teams fought it out for second place in a head to head in the final race of the competition, which Team New Zealand won by a mear 16 seconds.
